THE SAFE HOUSE
The safe house is located on 148 Long Street in Bredasdorp and is open 24 hours to all women age 18 and older who are victims of abuse and domestic violence. All services are confidential and free of charge.
The safe house has been extended in 2022 and can now accommodate 19 women and their dependent children for a maximum period of three months. It cannot accomodate children on their own.
The safe house opened its doors in August 2015 and is run by community worker Lana O'Neill and her team. They have all sucessfully completed the Traumatic Incident Trauma Councelling Course (accredited body SACSSP) in February 2016 and can offer immediate trauma counselling.
